I just listened to Sunset. I dig it, getting a mid 70's Beck vibe, but more obtuse AA note choices. I don't know if you use the tri tone or the b5 but it sounds good. Can you get double cream humbuckers in London???
Thanks for stopping by Matt, appreciate it! There must be some b5s in there among those flurries of notes ^_^ I always use it in pentatonic lines, and there are quite a few in there... As long as they're made by DiMarzio, sure!
Hi once more! Here's a tune from with @dogletnoir on bass once more. This one's called Pink Sky Factory, and it is a strange fusion kind of silliness. I spent an awfully long time on the drums for this - far longer than I spent on anything else ^_^ Anyway, I hope someone enjoys it at least Thanks to doglet for the bass and being inspiring, @simoncroft for continued mixing support and education, and my friend Matt who no one knows for some excellent insights into the mind of a drummer.
Listened to summer again, because you just kill on it man. Pink Sky Factory - Man what a collaboration and you and @dogletnoir seem to be just blooming musically together! Just beautiful work you two.
Hey, thanks Cig, I really appreciate it! Very happy that other people can enjoy this weird stuff we like to do Thanks in particular for the comment on Summer, I spent a relatively large amount of time on that one
Wow! Dig everything about this. Nice, uplifting, melodic, creative and more superlatives than I have in my vernacular! Enjoy the Eric Johnsonish cleans and chording as well as the quite jazzy parts. The outro puts the icing on the cake. Speedy, melodious riffing very well executed. Who's the proper guitar hero now?!
Pink Sky..very well put together. Everything comes together smooth. It gave me a few different vibes. Relaxed n chillin n then rushed and hectic. I put it together in my head like a week of work. Rush rush rush until you punch the out clock. Then a nice evening watching the pink sunset off the back deck. Great job !! Great talents!!
That's a very evocative description, I like it! Thanks very much for the comment and listen - I am extremely glad you enjoyed it
Cheers Matt! Thanks once more for your support! I never meant to play this sort of music - a few years ago I would have pulled a funny face if I heard fusion I think what happens is you kind of get sucked in by listening to one or two artists, and then you basically break your taste in music forever and end up writing this sort of nonsense
Ok, our production house is in overdrive right now, so we have another completed tune. This one has been sitting around for a while - @dogletnoir had to play catch up after a busy period irl. I was able to spend quite some time ironing out some issues with the help of @simoncroft, to whom I once again owe a lot of thanks (I decided to keep the "skronk" in the end, Si!). Anyway, it's got a loud chorus and about 3 minutes of pure widdling
Thought I'd post my challenge submission from this week here as well, because I am quite happy with it Could have spent more time ironing out the widdliness and the ending, but it's ok as is. I had unhealthy amounts of fun doing this.
Ok, here's a proper tune! Normal strangeness with mostly improvised leads. Had fun with this one Lydia's Perfidy I hope someone enjoys it! @dogletnoir once again supplies awesome bass guitar. Thanks again, partner!
This is sweeeeeeet! I dig the amp buzzing at the very beginning and the end. Kind of like listening to Electric Ladyland with headphones and hearing the amps humming away. Killer, monster crunch on this! My favorite part is from 1:43 to about 1:49. Randy Rhoads lives again! Great job man.
I listened to Yet Another Thing Very impressive. You're really running the gamut Sam, many different facets to your playing. Clean lines or the distorted leads, both sound great
