    Speaking of Bikes and Amazon....

If you buy high end bike parts and see that Amazon is not the actual shipper, contact the seller directly.

They usually give a 15-20% discount for ordering directly, as they save all the Amazon fees (let alone the MAP rules).

I won't list the seller's name so they don't get in trouble, but if you buy bike parts, you probably will recognize the shop.

    I paid $0.30 more.
    I got free shipping.
I paid less than that for MY Prime membership.
Since both the Mrs and I are disabled, and I can no longer drive, and the Mrs is quite ill,
we do most of our purchasing on-line. Free shipping more than pays for itself.

Try and walk in my (one ) shoe, on my ( one leg ) and see how YOU do, smart guy.

You are not going to make me feel one bit of guilt for pointing out that Amazon is always the highest price, lol.

Everybody has different conditions, problems and disabilities, especially as we get up into Strat-Talk years.

Most people do not try to weponize their disabilities against their fellow forum members.

Yeah, it's pretty much a joke. I think we're not going to renew Prime.

    Hi, @Tone Deaf -Buddy

I am real sorry for your and Mrs. TD's health challenges.

I use Amazon if I need workbooks for panic attacks or such because that way the checkout process does not see me when buy.

Prime is useful for certain things.
Just like Tele's are useful as canoe paddles.

I dunno I like my amazon prime usually whatever me and the misses want is available so it saves me time for going out and shop only to find they don’t have what We want, sometimes prices are slightly higher sometimes not but I do get prompt shipping when they have and they usually do, so for me that’s a big plus, As me and patience don’t really get along well :)
Plus I really like the shows on amazon prime
Plus I have an audio streaming service like Spotify Included
So it’s a pretty sweet deal for me

Living in a rural area with only 2 department stores in the county (both Walmart’s) I use Amazon occasionally and I can shop in my boxers from the couch :p

    I need something like that.
You know -- wide enough to stay up by itself when I am too worn out to put a foot down
at a Stop Sign or something similar.

You must weigh 300 lbs or be hitting 15 ft plus jumps then cause I send 8-10 foot gaps off 6-8 foot high ramps on my specialized stumpjumper 27.5 (nomn carbon) and have not broken it.

I ordered a set of race face pedals and lizard skins grips from Prime and they were each 10-15% lower than the best price my local bike shop could offer. The four rubics cubes we ordered for my son last year were cheaper on prime than any other online retailers. The computer desk and chair we bought him for Christmas was $75 cheaper on prime than any store or online site I could find. I have never once paid more through Amazon than I would elsewhere, otherwise why would I not buy it somewhere else if it’s cheaper? Of course I research extensively to find the best price and others may not.

With my work schedule Amazon is sort of a necessity for me when ordering supplies for the house, kids, etc., I shop For deals of Course, but am okay with paying for the convenience of having items waiting for me at my doorstep too. Ideally I like to throw my dollars at the local businesses when I can, but again the amazon thing for me is sometimes a Necessity/convenience factor.
On the Bmx topic - love the movie Rad (“send me an angel”). I was a total poser back in the day - I rode a Schwin Thrasher that I more or less lived on from age 6-13 or so, going to and from friends houses, sports, etc. I had some friends with the nice bikes (haro, gt, redline, etc.), but the thrasher always got me where I wanted to go...

Prime with free shipping and tv shows is worth it, suits my needs. Not for everybody so don’t hate on it if it’s not for you.

I weigh 300 lbs due to medications I take. There is no bike that if I went off of jumps I wouldn’t crack. So you all can have your BMX. I’ll take a Yamaha if I want to catch air:D
