    Hi there,
I'm on the market for an American Deluxe. My choice of color would be the Olympic White Pearl. BUT, browsing different sites, I stumbled upon this American Deluxe Ash third series (2010-2015), and a gorgeous 2015 in see-through Olympic White caught my attention big time. I actually can't find many info about this series, so I wonder if the finish is nitro lacquer or poly, and if in general there's something I need to know about this model. Except it looks stunning, of course.

    The serial is US15014016
The weight is 3.4kg/7.5 pounds (verified)

    Thanks!

That's gorgeous! I'd grab it if I was in the market . . . nitro or poly wouldn't make me no dif. :)

it is awesome... the only doubt, I actually need an humbucker on the bridge position, and maybe putting a humbucker on a guitar with that kind of looks would be weird...

I would get it, a new pickguard and drop a bucker in it in a heartbeat. No doubt about it.

Maybe you could do something like a Seymour Duncan JB Jr. in the bridge. Nice guitar either way.

    Yes, white blonde for sure!

I'd say that's on the lighter side.

My S series (ash natural) is 8 pounds even.

Could always get a SC size HB.

I would buy it in a heartbeat but first I have to sell my Ibanez :(

Anyway, I had the JB Junior on an old American Special of mine, and it did very little for me. I felt I lost some of the clarity of a single coil while NOT gaining the "meat" of a real humbucker. I don't remember it as a pickup I liked at all.

I would put a zebra uncovered humbucker in this guitar... I've seen pictures and the looks of that is cool with tortoise or black pickguard. It is a decent compromise for my taste.

Agree. Buy it. Play around with pickguards and pick-ups. Grey pearloid? Chrome knobs? White?

How are the necks on these different from typical American Standard?

I don't know if the neck is different from a modern C, but the fingerboard is compound radius 9 to 14, like I have in my AmStd Channel-Bound. I love that!

I have one of these with a maple fretboard. It is absolutely my favorite guitar. I would have no reluctance at all to get this if it's in good shape.
