Hey gang! I came across this Strat locally for sale and wondering if you think it's MIM or MIA? It has the spokewheel truss rod adjustment. I am waiting to hear back from the seller with more info.
    Thanks! Screenshot_20210707-201530.png

    That is American, indeed.

Check the serial number. You can email Fender Customer Relations and get the details. It looks like an Elite to me as well. Elites are US Made.

Front and back closeup pics would be nice. I mean seriously, no guitar porn?

That's also known as Sienna burst, and if it's an Ash body it could be mexican made.

We got a shipment of those MIM's here back in 2017 and every one of them looked absolutely amazing.
There were comparatively few Elites shipped in that colour - but the colour is not unique to an American Elite series strat - just in case you thought that to be the case.

IIRC, for it to be an Elite from that period, it has a mint guard and the S1 switch. I am not really seeing either on that instrument, but agree that you need to see the serial number to verify and some better resolution closeups - which would absolutely make it far easier to identify.

It could be an elite or a MIM. my eyes cannot tell from that image.

Looks very much like an American Elite to me between the truss rod adjustment, block saddles, finish and I believe the S1 on the volume knob. Need to see the back as well - should have a contoured heel and locking tuners.

Better pics would help but I believe I see the S1 the volume cap. 2 post bridge. And the truss rod adjustment were it is are earmarks of an Elite.

    Where am I?
I see the ridge on the volume knob that says it has the S-1 switch.
I’m unaware of any Mexican Strats that have a wheel heel truss rod adjuster.
I’m confident that it’s an American Elite Strat. Event the string tree is correct and the headstock lettering all day Elite to me.
    Is it a good deal?
Deluxes and Elites are my favourite Strats. They used some pretty cool looking ebony fretboards on the elites as well, not sure what years though.

Shouldn’t the serial number be a dead giveaway?

Agree with everyone - it's an American Elite in a pretty color.

It's the only pic in the listing. Didn't hear back from seller yet. Probably already sold. It was cheap

OK, so I heard back from the seller this AM that it has been sold. It went in less than an hour. $300. ugh! Thanks for all of you input on this, although it can now be logged into the "the one that got away" book!

At least your conscious can be clear. At $300, it could have been stolen, being sold to feed a habit, or sold before a husband got home from a fishing trip!

In the age of the internet, the days of the truly uninformed seller are gone.

To the best of my recollection, the MIM's did not have the spoke wheel truss rod adjustment.

I will definitely go with that one. So true, and makes me feel just a little better. Thanks!
