I recently bought a used 2018 American Pro Strat. Got it for a great price (I thought) and it arrived in very good condition. Case is really nice as well and it has the black padded pouch they normally come with, except there was no COA inside.

Bought it off eBay and there was no mention or photo of the COA in the listing, yet I was kind of expecting there to be one because if I were selling an Am Pro w/no COA, I would mention it's missing in the description.

Checked the Fender Product Registration page and it comes up as a 2018 Am Pro with the correct color, maple fretboard and same pup configuration. So not sure if I should be concerned or not.

Never had this happen before so I'd greatly appreciate any advice y'all can offer.

Looks good to me...and a great price! I've never bought a used guitar that came with a COA.

Regular production guitars like an American Pro do not ever come with a Certificate of Authenticity - only vintage reissues and custom shop instruments....

It didn't come with one because it's not supposed to....

I was able to call Fender and get a replacement certificate for my 2014 60th Anniversary 54 Reissue. I had to provide some specific pictures. Have you tried calling them?

Otherwise, my advice is don't lose sleep over the COA and play the crap out of it.

EDIT: Oh I just clicked on the link..... $600!!!! Get over it, you smoked a deal on that thing! Don't overthink it.

Fantastic price for that. I don't think the production line Fender COA's hold any value. I'd be more concerned about the Custom Shop certificates, but not too concerned.

I bought a body only from ebay, and the seller included that COA with it - not sure why, I'd rather have it for the neck matching serial number lol.

Failing that , take photos of whole guitar serial number s front back heel headstock etc, write a letter asking for replacement Coa then go to nearest fender dealer and pay $75 dollars and they will get a replacement for you. That's what they do for custom shop cant see that being any different . I believe the new one is dated from when you requested it though not manufacture date.

    Just print your own.

I've never really understood how a COA proves anything. It's easier to fake than a guitar.

I thought it was a good price too. I just happen to look on eBay for used Strats that day and happened to catch it right after it got listed so I snagged it.

    Was definitely an impulse buy!

I reckon since it checks out on the Fender Product Registration page as a 2018 Am Pro in the same color w/maple fretboard and same pup configuration that I shouldn't be overly concerned about the COA.

Wasn't sure about the color (Antique Olive) when I bought it but it looks way better in person than it does in photos.

$600 for that. Holy crap! That's a smoking awesome deal. I'd be stoked to buy the guitar with no case, no candy and a missing tremolo arm for that. Love the color too. GC in Tulsa has one I've been eyeballing for a while.

Wow nice deal and beautiful color. This is the same exact model and color I’ve been considering. Great deal and congrats. Btw I didn’t know they came with a COA as well. Enjoy :thumb:

Yeah and I also earned 10% in eBay Bucks on this purchase ($60) to spend after the first of the year!
