I saw something pop up on you tube on a new strat and tele that was basically a mash-up of the pro and the ultra specwise, with a white figured ebony board and painted headstock, it was a bit blingy for me but its looks like there is a fair bit of redesign going on with new USA fenders..

The price I saw on the dark knight is $1499 as well.

They're closing out the Pro, it looks like. There are only 1 or 2 colors available as of the last few days on the Fender site and an authorized distributor in NYC, Adorama, has run two flash sales in the past 2 weeks, the first on LPB and the 2nd on Almond Green. Each at $999 shipped with the elite case.

So $50 increase from the V1 models - weren't they $1,449 most recently? Then a $100 bump for the pine body, which matches the old $100 bump for ash - so the new pine one is $50 more than the old ash ones.

    Could have been worse.

Being a fan of the TV show, I'd really like to see that supernatural neck.

I don't like at all that rolled neck heel and that neck plate!
The strat body does not need any modification, it's sacred!

I could not tell in the pics if it has the same contour as the ultra or not, but from some of the comments it does look like it does.
On a plus side, I did find a listing but no pics yet with listings for new LH colors:

Fender American Professional II Stratocaster Left-Hand MP Mystic Surf Green w/ case. $ 1,499.99.

Fender American Professional II Stratocaster Left-Hand MP Mercury w/case. $ 1,499.99.

Other than vmod2 pickups, what are the other changes? I was wondering whether they would go back to medium jumbo frets / maybe bring back the custom shop pickups. Why they dropped the fat 50s i dont know. They were/are fantastic.

It looks like they will still have the narrow tall frets, the fingerboard will have rolled edges, a changed 2 point tremolo block made of cold rolled steel, and the rolled neck heel.
I posted the specs from Fender’s registration page based off of the dark knight I found on eBay. The sn on that guitar does check out and it is in the system.

Not keen on that surf green compared to the regular surf green, and the grey one does nothing for me, but the blue one is beautiful. And this from someone who doesn't usually like blue guitars.

I don't agree. I'm not a player who spends much time up at the twiddly end of the neck, but the regular neck heel is a royal pain in the a*rse in my opinion. But we all have our own tastes :)
