It's awesome. A great variation of a tweed deluxe. The celestion g12-65 it comes with is a great speaker, but isn't my favorite with the amp. I'm a basement player and that speaker makes the amp really loud, even when on the low power setting. I just recently put an Eminence Maverick in it and it seems like a winner. Between the built in amp attenuation and the speaker attenuation, it is an incredible versatile amp! The speaker still needs to break in, but so far so good.

Despite loving the amp, I may sell it because it is worth the most and I have amp overload right now...

i have a G12 65 Creamback in my Marshall - after it breaks in it is really nice

was hoping you’d pick it to sell and then list it for like 300$ and then I’d swoop in and grab it !!

Haha - yeah, it's worth a bit more than that!

The speaker that came stock in this is the Rola heritage G12 65...I'm not sure how that differs from the creamback. It did sound great when you can crank it (really smooth, tight breakup), but at lower volumes it had a bit of a "wet blanket" thing going on in that particular amp.

Swapping the speaker made a massive change, before if I had the treble above 3, it was just pure fizz. With the 10" Greenback, no fizz, even with the treble on 10. More mids, better low end, and MUCH louder.

The speaker wasn't cheap, around 120 after shipping and all that, and I can see most people couldn't justify spending over 100 bucks on a speaker for a solid state amp, but it's a proper celestion, made in the UK, and it sounds really good.

Those are awesome amps, I have the older 2x12 version of it. Also a DRRI, a '65 Bassman, a Musicman HD150 and one or two others floating around somewhere.

The thing with BF and SF amps is that circuit names like AA763 and AB763 can apply to several different amps. The regular Champ was also an AA764 circuit but obviously not the same circuit as the Vibro-Champ. They're really more like revision dates.

I’m hopeful of fixing the YCV 50 and turning it into another head.
