I have the chance of picking up an American Elite Stratocaster (maple neck, ash body) for 950 EUR.

Complete with OHSC and all case candy. The guitar (the seller states) is mint - reason of selling "too many guitars".

I think the price is quite attractive for this model but I never played one. General thoughts about this model?

    Thanks in advance.

Great guitar IMO. I thought I got a deal when I payed $1499.00 USD @Sam ASh.
They were clearing out for the new Ultras. When I saw it for 1700.00 I quickly walked away because it was sofaking se-si and destined to be mine. I might have payed the 1700.00 but something told me to go back and haggle. As I walked in the guy /Steve/ was marking it down to 1499.00.
The compound radius neck and HSS format combined with jade pearl metallic and ebony board hypnotized me. The 4th gen noiseless pickups need no upgrades and sound great. The contoured heel was a bonus but I get by without. It also has a button to isolate the hum bucker /thought it was a boost at first. I would buy it again. Good luck with that GAS....

I'd leap on it. I really like the neck and shape and there were some pretty groovy colours too. At that price you can't lose as long as it's in decent shape.

August 2019, I sent two of them back. Sad but true.

Sounds like a bargain - but you should probably post photos to make sure it's legit, there's no damage, changed hardware, etc.

I have the HSS American Elite and it is a very fine instrument. 900 I think is a steal!

    I love its tone!!

I love mine, it's one of my main players, and that's a great price. I'd say go for it.

Here's the guitar. Any red flags (I'm not that savvy concerning Elites...)? The serial number checks out but the font looks too "black". Is this normal? Many thanks!

It shows up as a Tobacco Sunburst. Almost looks as a Sienna Sunburst to me...

Looks fine; you got a deal!

Fender USA and MIM serial number decals are 2 pieces - one part says "Serial Number" and has the prefix with the country code and year (in this case "US17"), the other part is the individual 6-digit number; they are different fonts. Sometimes the first part does show up darker than the other part.

Needs a white pearl pick-guard but otherwise beautiful. How does it play?

So the price and axe above look good and I would consider it a good buy.
