    That instrumental break is great. The FM stations I listened to back then would play the entire thing. Only the commercial stations played the single version.

    Agreed! Same here...the stations I listened to played the entire song. It's always a breath of fresh air hearing this tune again!

    I walked onto Jim Messina’s ranch one day. I was 17 and my partner and I had written and recorded like five tunes.
    He wasn’t very pleased at seeing a couple of hippy kids coming up the drive way.
    We gave him our tape and told him what it was.

    I bet he threw it away the moment we left! Hahahahaha

    Great song. I've always liked Jim Messina's guitar playing. Not a lot of notes but they really fit the vibe of the song. Very talented IMHO.
