OK, I'm weak and have discovered that the Covid shots do NOT cure GAS. But I realized a few days ago that, despite the number of guitars that I have, I do NOT own any Schecter models at all. How could that be? So, in rapid response manner, I went searching for a suitable model to join my herd. I found one that is at the lower end of the scale but very nice. It is called the "Omen Extreme 6" and comes in a beautiful Magenta color with a quilted maple top and all mahogany body and neck, dual tapped humbuckers, and simply beautiful fretboard with abilone/MOP fret markers and headstock decore. The guitar is quite light and more conservative in body features from some of the other models I have seen. And I found it at MF in an "open box" discount, enabling me to get it and the case for a a really good price. It arrived today and I am truly impressed! It arrived all set-up except for final tuning and it plays and feels great. And I just found out that the thing has 24 frets...hum? Here's a photo:
Oh no. Oh no no no no no. I am looking away. Well maybe a peek. That's nice. Really nice. Schecter eh? Uh oh... None of those puppies here either. I gotta go. That Schecter is a new strain of GAS and I can't risk exposure. HNGD!
I've been trying to add more photos of this guitar, but for some reason they won't upload? Stay tuned.
That's awesome! In February I bought my first Schecter and I'm very, very impressed with the bang for the buck. There's some great value there, and it's one of my favorite guitars. Was set up perfectly right out of the box, though I did change string gauges and removed a trem spring, so I had to readjust a little. I hope you do manage to post more pics, yours looks amazing!
I've lately (for the last year or so) been thinking I'd like a SSS Schecter The OP got a beautiful guitar!
OK, more pictures. This thing is sweet. Played it for a couple of hours tonight and it sounds and plays fantastic. The workmanship and finishing are some of the best I've seen. Odd to note that the guitar was made in Indonesia, but the neck plate says USA and it is really decorative. Each Humbucker can be split to single coil and the controls are one volume control for each pickup and a master tone control that is also push/pull. And it's a hardtail (just what I wanted).
HNGD! I have one just like it...a great guitar. I like Schecters and also have a C-1 Platinum (blue) and a Banshee-6FR (charcoal). I'll probably spring for a PT Special when they come back in stock...I like the purple.
I live somewhere in Central Washington....actually wherever they will allow me to pitch my tent and store my guitars!
Congrats, axejock! I had a Schecter C-1 Elite, and I foolishly let it go in a deal for my Taylor 710ce. Occasionally, I think about trying to get it used now, but deep down I know it just wouldn't be the same.
Schecter guitars are really awesome for price performance no doubt Gonna be ordering this one soon myself
