Good luck. Play what you've learned for the best you can and be an awesome person. Both personality & skill are important in bands so you'll do great.

Outside the comfort zone is where the magic happens.

Break a leg, A! Just have fun, laugh off any mistakes and give it your best shot.

Better to be relaxed and loose than uptight and not at your best.

Let us know how it goes, either way.:thumb:

May I offer one piece of advice? I coach salespeople who make cold calls, and one thing I remind them is to focus on deciding whether you want to work with them, not trying to sell them on working with you. You need to make sure you like the vibe of this band, and that they are good enough and enjoyable enough that you want to invest time to learn those 60 songs. If you are good enough to even consider auditioning, then you are good enough to be in the band. You can’t control if they like your or not, but if you are worried about impressing them, you’ll likely make it tougher on yourself. Just play the songs and focus on deciding if you want the gig. The rest will work itself out. Cheers!

If I didn't try to do things I wasn't "good enough" for, life would be a lot less interesting.

Wait, what?! Of course you can! Sometimes the best-timed beers come before lunch. (Just don't make a habit of it. ;))

    Amen!

I'll toss in my usual non-sequitur.
3 English guys and a Frenchmen would make a great band name.

Auditions are the rhythm section's way of life.

I teamed up with a bass player and drummer for casuals (formal parties like company banquets, and stuff...no weddings, couldn't stand drunks wanting to join in) and high end hotel bar 'happy hour' low level jazz instrumentals. We were also sorta "on call" as a rhythm section for traveling acts that needed support. Worked very well during the summer festival season.

I'm sure you'll be great once the initial meeting a new group of people nerves passes. If they are decent, they'll do their best too to make you feel comfortable.

Be yourself, you seem pretty likable which I'm sure helps. :)

    Good Luck!

No pain, no gain. Jump in with both feet. The worst that can happen is it doesn't work - so what?- but it will be an experience regardless, you never know who you will meet or where it will lead, and that alone makes it worth it. Remember, you miss 100% of the shots you never take, at least if you shoot once there is the possibility of a score.
