When I was a wee lad I was enamored with the Wilbury’s. That first album and the Tom Petty- Full Moon Fever album were the first ones I really distinctly remember. The common link was Jeff Lynne. As I got older, I discovered how much of a genius the “forgotten Wilbury” is. Really a master at his craft.

a few days ago, I heard a song by Rasberry’s called Go All the Way. Felt very much like an ELO song. Fantastic.

Wondering if there are any other Jeff fans here.

Now if you're a real fan you can recite the lyrics to "Horace Wimp"

Amazing short documentary from his home.

    Amazing acoustic performances and interviews.

    Definitely. A largely unappreciated legend.

Saw Jeff 4 times now! After 30+ years of not touring, he did a few shows in 2015-16 and 2018. I went to any show he did where I was living. In 2015 that meant Irving Plaza and two shows at Radio City. In 2018, I was living in SF and took my son to see him in Oakland.

the reallllly special of those shows were Irving Plaza. It’s a TINY venue and is standing room only. My wife (girlfriend at the time), paid a kings ransom to buy the tickets. I waited on line for 12 hours prior to the show to get close to the stage. Ended up about 10 feet away from the man himself. Electric!

Heck yeah! Saw em in concert in their heyday. They came on second after Black Sabbath but before Queen. Yeah, thats right, it was a Night At The Opera I'll never forget. To hear the ELO string section play live was glorious. Heck yeah I like ELO.

Jeff Lynne is genius. He managed to do something no one else was doing and make it commercially successful.

Absolutely. I became a fan in 1973 when nobody else got it. Roll Over Beethoven and then Ma Ma Belle did it for me.

The Beatles like(d) him. That’s a good enough co-sign for me!

My father and I have similar musical tastes and he never quite got them. He’s come around quite a bit, now that I’m able to force him to listen to their records when we’re drinking beer!

I saw them back in the day. One of the first bands to use a large scale laser light show IIRC.

Absolutely. Became interested from the get go with his involvement with Roy Wood and The Move. Very talented multi instrumentalist. Saw ELO live at Wembley Stadium in 1970 something:D???. Great live band and fantastic light show for its time.:thumb:
