On the third day was the first ELO album I had.. Thought Showdown was brilliant.
You and John Lennon both.
Anything he touches, you know it's him.
Yep, love ELO. And this is one of my favourites.
Just one question - who is Bruce & why was he bringing Jeff down? I've always wondered that.
Well, 'fan' is a big word... (even though it really isn't) but I do like a lot of their songs!
Mr. Blue Sky... Don't bring me down...
I’m a fan.
There are some who feel ELO was who picked up the torch of innovation in music that the Beatles started.
John Lennon said so in an interview. Said ELO was what the Beatles would sound like in the 70’s.
Would have, possibly, sounded like. .
But I fully agree with Lennon.
I took my son in Oakland in 2018 as well! I was knocked out!
Then he came to Sac in 2019 so we saw him there too.
Was thinking about a trip to Sac but couldn’t swing it at the time. Will see him when he’s back in NY...hopefully soon .
Honda Center Anaheim, CA... 2019
Eldorado is a great album to play lead guitar over
One big fan would be me.
One of my favorite bands back in the '70s. I still put on Eldorado every now and then.
I had ELO on 8-Track tape!
I went to see XANADU at a theater when it first came out (stop it, the music is great)!
If the Beatles had kept on evolving, I'm not sure they would ever have sounded much like ELO.
But I absolutely agree Jeff has carried the torch as far as writing and production are concerned.
It wasn't just John who felt that way. Paul and George both have said the same.
I love Jeff's production style. He's a great songwriter too of course, and such a versatile player that it can be easy to overlook his vocal talent.
Hugely underappreciated by the general public IMO, despite his many hits.
I think Jeff is probably a little bit glad for that. While he's at home in the spotlight, he's dedicated most of his time and energy to music; unlike many stars he never devoted a lot of his efforts to cultivating celebrity.
Well said! John said ELO was a continuation of what the Beatles did on Magical Mystery Tour. That was a great old interview from WNEW.
All over the world
Big fan since the mid-seventies.
