    Yep

Saw them on an Easter Sunday on their first tour in an Auditorium that usually had six or eight thousand in attendance for any of those bands in the day. But that night only about 650 were there.

I forget which member it was but when they walked out on stage one of them walked up to a mic and told us they were going to give us a show we'll tell our friends they'd be sorry they missed.

    They delivered :)

Yes. Jeff Lynne used to sneak into Abbey Road to watch recording sessions. He’s brilliant.

A New World Record was huuuge here. Out of the Blue very big too. I had been a fan since Can't Get It Out of My Head.

I wonder how much Jeff Lynne has made from movie royalties for this song ... it seems to pop up in a movie every week or two

One point that nobody has yet made is how well such an old band has stood the test of time. Look at the audience at any of their live gigs & you'll see three generations. There aren't that many bands that have fans from older than they are to teenagers. Chic is the only other band that springs to mind though there are obviously others too. To cross several generations like that takes some doing.

Oh yes, a very big ELO fan here. Almost saw them live in 1977.
I had tickets for their Toronto concert at Maple Leaf Gardens, 4 April 77.
Turned out that that was around the time our first child was expected so I gave my
tickets to a friend who took some nice 35mm slides for me.
Our little girl was born on 13 April :whistling::)

    Eldorado is a great album!

Form some reason it was my go album for inspiration.
Late at night after I'd sent my staff home I'd play it over and over until I had finished
whatever designs I need to have ready for presentation in the morning.

I have "The Night The Light Went On In Long Beach" live album on vinyl, I bought it back in the 70s when it was an import. I always liked his version of Great Balls Of Fire that he did live back then.

That is magnificent, thank you so much! I now need to send that to a friend in Hungary who loves that song even more than I do. :D
