Just picked up a 1997 MIJ shell pink ‘57 reissue in near mint condition. Bought it from the original owner locally. Just brought it to my tech who informed me it’s a “girls color”. Which I’m very okay with. A pink guitar was never on my radar but I actually really love that color and the neck profile. The patina of the guitar is also a beautiful orange tone. Let me know what you guys think!
That looks great! Congratulations. In addition to being a twit your tech obviously has a small... Trem bar...
I love MIJ Strats, I never have to do anything to them, not often see e'm in my workshop, if I only repair MIJ strats I could retire.
I had a 1986 MIJ Strat contemporary that player amazingly. The tech said the same thing, not much had to be done to it in its lifetime with me. The only thing I didn’t like was that kahler trem and locking nut. I sold it, and someone surprisingly paid me $1500 for it. I paid $190 for it 3 years before I sold it. If it wasn’t for that trem, I wouldn’t have sold it. Been searching for the right Japanese strat since. And I finally found it!
Never a fan of Kahler, they worked but I could never find spares for my clients, they never worn out, guitarist's just seemed to loose bits. Matsumoku used them a lot and were popular, not so in your face as floyd Rose.
