    Yes, I dig Humbuckers.
So much I took the P90's out of my 56 gold top and had humbuckers installed.
Of course I was 17 and didn't know what I know about vintage guitars now. Hey! it wasn't that old when I got it in 77. A graduation gift from my family. Yes I still have the original's but it was routed out to fit.
I did use PAF humbuckers which were not that hard to procure at the time.
Anyway,as much as I like them I have never put a humbucker on a Strat. I did put one of the p90's on a partsacaster but I didn't like it. I think I will use a mini on my partscaster i am working on now but I prefer the humbuckers stay on a gibson. Then again they both are fantastic platforms to build on (strats and humbuckers)and I ain't dead yet so I might change my mind eventually.

I love that! Are those Alumitone pickups? I'm thinking about maybe getting some Railhammers.

Yes, Lace Alumitone pickups. Very happy with these. I also have used the bass guitar versions, also excellent.

Pete, I think lazy guitar players are just f'n lazy. A good low wind PAF sounds just fine in the hands of someone who knows how to use it.

I also think sonic myopia is real. :D

Sure, I just swapped out my SSS guard for this one.

I have a Bootstrap Vintage Cleans set on the way, destined for another pickguard assembly.

Pardon my dust. My 1976 CBS era [ GASP!] Telecaster Deluxe that I purchased new as a mere young'n. I also have a recently acquired G&L ASAT Carved top..well, a picture is worth....

Paul Gagon's design : Advertising language states the following :
The neck pickup exudes a vintage-inspired PAF-like tone with a slightly goosed output that’s sure to get your amp cooking. The high-output bridge pickup is a real scorcher — it positively pummels the front end of your amp, while boasting clear mid’s and smooth highs. A push-pull on the ASAT Deluxe Carved Top’s tone knob activates coil splits that grant you access to everything from jangly single-coil tones to gritty blues textures to high-octane leads. Both pickups feature chrome covers that offer eye-catching looks while lending a hint of warmth to your playing.

As some one else stated earlier. The Amp figures in as well in the never ending chase of tone.

Those are two really cool guitars. I had an asat deluxe a while back. Great guitar. The Tele Deluxe is a classic.

i have Lace Alumitones or Aluma X-Bars on most of my .strandberg* guitars, and i love them.

i find the sound of them to be very hi-fi, so they aren't for everyone... but then again, what pickup is?

Yes, yes, there is a time and place for humbuckers... And that time and place is in the fires of HECK! Heck I tell you! And not in a good way!

I suppose having them in a Les Paul is ok.
