I have all the guitars that I need, but I might need a Rick someday. That natural 620/6 is drop dead gorgeous.
I like it a lot. The "Mapleglo" finish is not exactly "natural", it sits somewhere between "natural" and "blonde". Light blonde, I'd call it.
Ive got two like John Lennon played. A 325 C58 and a 325 C 64. I like my fenders way better. John was a heck of a player to do what he did on them. That short neck is not that easy to play.
That depends a lot on your hands and style of playing. I'm a short dude with small hands, and the short neck is deliciously comfortable to me. I too like my Fender Strat better, but for other reasons. Rickenbackers are GREAT guitars, and the high gain pickups deliver roughly as much mojo as P-90s, only jangly. And not as gross as humbuckers.
I just REALLY want a Rick 12 Roger McGuinn-style: I just REALLY want a Rick 360/12. http://www.rickenbacker.com/wmodel.asp?model=360/12[/Img]
Man, those 620s look so great. One of the coolest designs ever. Unfortunately, I just can't get along with Rickenbacker necks. I had a 330 briefly and ended up selling it because it just felt unplayable.
That's a nice one! I go back and forth with Rics - never owned one, but the 620/6 is the one I would get as well. Love the mapleglo finish.
The tailpiece on my 610-12 exploded. It's been almost a decade and I still can't be bothered to do anything about it.
