Anyone else seen a Fender "Double Showman" head?

Back in the late 60's I went to a classmate's party where they had a friend's high school-aged rock band playing. Their thing was a *wall* of Fender amps and costume changes between sets. These were kids with the full financial backing of wealthy parents who bought them new gear from the local music stores, likely most of it from Arthur's Music in Indianapolis, IN.

One of the guitarists had a Fender BF Showman head with a faceplate that clearly said "Double Showman" and not Dual Showman. A fact, I saw it, unmistakable, no question that it said that. Obviously original and not messed with. I've never seen such a thing documented or discussed anywhere. A prototype or an initial production run before they decided to change the name?

Has anyone else seen one of these in the wild or seen relevant documentation?

I’ve seen some, they’re Dual Showmans before the name was changed - same amp, but still pretty rare and cool

afaik, the difference is impedance...one speaker vs. two. And, some SF years had reverb. Big beefy sounding amps...depending on my intake on the day, I swear I saw somethings as well, double showman, probably an illusion. (cue Doug Henning meme)

I saw this one example back in '67-'68 and none since. These don't seen to be documented anywhere. Help me understand the examples you've seen in your 15 years, as, so far, no one who lived in that time seems to have ever seen one.

The question is... have you ever seen a "Double Showman" as lettered on the faceplate, not a Dual Showman.

There have been plenty of anomalies in Fender amps through the years. "Look it up" doesn't work for the amp I saw. I'm looking for anyone else who has seen one of these.

Not sure why everyone is so sure the OP is imagining things or was inebriated. Yes they did make them before the dual showman. They were part of the blonde series of amps and were called the Double for the first year in 62. Here are three links about them.

    Look at page 361.

See my above post. Fender did make a double showman before the dual.

See the links I posted. I do not know if the head said double but according to the Fender list in the third link and ampwares (one of the most knowledgeable vintage fender sites around fender did make this model. It seems they were made for only 9 months and as we all know during the first issue of amps and guitars fender had lots of odd things and anomalies. The evidence I found in two minutes of googling seem to support what the OP says.

@Stratoskater - But.. not named as such on the faceplate as OP describes, the examples provided only display the word showman.
