found this on eBay going pretty cheap, looks in pretty rough shape, might be an interesting project for someone but I’m not even sure what it actually is, looks like some kind of 60’s strat, although I looked up the serial number and couldn’t find anything, kinda cool colour though, like a penny

Shoreline gold classic 60´s stratocaster? Or maybe a faded Burgundy mist.

that guitar is a victim of water damage, possibly completely submerged .. its gonna cost more to restore its heartbeat than it would to buy a similar guitar in a currently functional state.

Once upon a time that was a 60s Classic in Burgundy Mist. Poor thing.

Yeah, unless someone just wants a project to bring back to something interestingly reliced.. I'd say that one's deader 'n Texas Roadkill..

If cheap enough, there's an EXCELLENT source of relic'ed hardware and plastic!

The body and neck deserve a Viking Funeral.

Is there a picture of the neck at a few different angles?
I wonder how warped it is

    It’s definitely an insurance claim ; )

But man,,,,it might be worth seeing if it could be saved as far as the ascetics are concered
They make stabilization chemicals that can keep the cracks from growing and seal it up
I mean a electronic swap and some effort it might be an interesting project as long as the neck isnt a total lose

That neck looks like at one time it would have been a very lovely neck, birdseye and all... shame!

    Here’s a few more pictures,
For the record I was tempted to take a punt on it but it’s nearing £200 now and I’m sceptical that it’s actually worth that in this state and how much it’d be to sort

Yeah the water damage is severe on that one. Wouldn't expect the neck to be all that straight after it dries out, even if the fretboard doesn't fall off...

Most of the pick guard screws are removed but no photos from underneath it? That bothers me for a start.
