So, the settings are factory set but they're all out of whack? I wasn't planning on using the usb. Something to consider for sure if this is true.
    Thanks

Yes - out of the box it’s mids mids mids The X2 mids is factory set at 9. Only way to change is in the software. And the effects factory settings are a tad off - the nice thing is you can really adjust the bias and amp setting on each amp/ voice via Fuse - assuming you can download it, figure out how to get it running and such. Just wanted you to be aware of what you’re getting into If you can find someone who knows how to use it and download etc that can help you you’ll be much better off. I would but I had an iMac and I’ve forgotten all what I had to do. There’s specific platforms I had to hunt for and download. The ***** of it is when the iOS updated in my iMac the software became incompatible bc fender wasn’t keeping it up to date / supporting it.

And yet they still sell the amp That’s really bad business IMO.

when the Fender Forums we’re still up and running the folks there graciously helped me through the process - not fender. They’d always say “Welcome to Fuse Hell” bc so many folks were just lost and fender wasn’t supporting or answering questions etc you were on your own even before March 2020

Beware that, other than the hybrid 2nd channel, the 1st channel is just fine tube driven blackface sound, working pretty well together with your guitar’s volume pot.

I'm running an old OS, High Sierra, and the app still works for me.

I'm disappointed in Fender for discontinuing this app.
The mids knob isn't a huuge deal, but it's very handy to have access to.
Channel 2 customization is so involved, with sag, etc. and stacking pedals before and/or after amp. I liked CH.2 more after spending a few hrs on the software.

I haven't tried presets but I wouldn't expect them to work, now.

USB output isn't as good as Line Out, to my ears, but I have the advantage of silencing the speaker with a cheap L-Pad attenuator, so YMMV.

I had heard about the mids default to 9 ... that wasn't the case with mine, they were 6 iirc ... got mine late last year. I suspect they changed the default settings.

Remuda is a good alternative to Fuse. Many people have access to Android devices. Remuda costs 2 or 3 dollars. The right USB dongle is $5 - 15.

Fuse will continue to work for a while, but eventually, it will probably break when some shared code it relies on changes. That is when lack of support will kill it. So, I never loaded it.

I went with Remuda on the Android platform. The guy that developed it gigs with a Super ChampX2.

But in my view, the amp is compromised by Fender's lack of support for arguably necessary control software. It's a bad situation. Wish Fender supported this product better.

Yeah they must have. I’m glad that someone developed software to support the channel 2 !! Fuse will eventually stop working as operating systems update. That’s what happened to me. If you happen to have a computer with older software and fuse works DONT update it LOLOL

I had the XD which I thought I liked until I got a Princeton Reverb Reissue. I sold the XD and never looked back. If you can spend a little more, get a Princeton instead.

I don't want to spend that much. I have a Mesa Boogie Fillmore 25 and a DRRI. I just want something to play while I'm sitting in the living room screwing around.

I bought and installed a real Fender metal logo and got rid of that plastic one. I think it looks much better.

IIRC the only dependency for Fuse is Microsoft Silverlight. As long as Microsoft makes that available, Fuse is ok. If a Windows library changes, well...

Fender's support of Fuse has never been
The idea that Fuse will eventually stop working is based on exactly what? What did you update? Exactly what caused Fuse to stop working.

Not trying to be a PITA, but corelation of events isn't causation. A cause is a cause.

I've used SCXD's for ten years. I like them for home use, giving lessons and with a speaker change (Legend 105), for shows up to about 200 people. But, the Eminence Legend adds a tweed type of sound, with a boost in volume. I look for semi clean tweed sounds and overdriven Marshall sounds. The Boss Katana 50 works as well for me, with better effects, for less money.

Get real - a princeton reverb (the cheaper 68 version) is $899, whereas the X2 combo is $399. A LITTLE more?!?!?!

Yeah I suppose so. I got a good deal on a 68 PRRI used so the money gap wasn’t that wide but the performance gap was huge.
