Picked this up tonight for $100. It's MIC so probably not that old. Dirty as heck but will clean up nice. I'll get to it after my Tele partscaster gets completed so probably after Thanksgiving.

Nice. I haven’t seen an Arbor guitar in decades.

Cool guitar. Does look like it's got some mojo working. Don't clean that part off. :whistling:

I used to be in a metal band in the late 80's, did shows with Pantera right before Cowboys f/hell came out, opened for major acts in large venues.

My bass player owned 1 bass.

And it was an Arbor, straight in to a padded, vintage Kustom Bass Amp..

Leave it dirty - you'll clean the mojo off of it. There's tone in that grime

Nope, I'm not mixing DNA with unknown strangers. It's getting cleaned.

Cool story but mine was made in China not Korea. Unless they stick fake stickers in them lol.

I'd be a little concerned about the deformation of the top in the upper bout and the mess around the bridge, but for $100, not too concerned..

What deformation? Mess around the bridge? You mean the cloth piece?

I’ve had this orangey strap for some time now but never had a use for it until now.

The light reflection seems to show some here

    Which isn't uncommon in archtops.

The cloth looked like scratches, it really shouldn't be there, the bridge needs to be directly on the top.

I wondered about the cloth. Is that a leftover from shipping that never got removed?

Probably an attempt to stop the bridge slipping, assuming that it's not pinned.

No it’s not, and in my opinion the cloth makes it a little more slippery. I may just remove it.
