You know... there used to be good bands like the pink floyd, the rolling stones, the jimi hendrix experience, miles davis, lou reed and a whole lot more and now they're all dead or really old.

When i happen to turn on the radio and listen to today's music i don't know.... it kind of sounds really really awful. Do you know any new band or musician worth listening?

This is the only guy I know from the new generation that puts some real bones and soul into his music:

Keep the videos and music coming! This is all about new good stuff :thumb:

For my taste, Blackberry Smoke is one of the greatest live bands today.

I think a lot of modern rock bands don't listen to enough blues, folk, rockabilly, funk, soul, country, jazz etc. They just listen to other rock bands and so their music comes across as stale and generic. The great classic rock bands had a wide array of influences and now I think most bands trying to be like them only listen to those bands and not where they came from.

If youre a bit into pink floyd/gilmour sound i really can recomend a Norwegian band called "Airbag" and their latest album "Disconnected". Abseloutly worth a listen.

got to dig deep these days, but its out there not sure what kind of stuff you like, I used to laugh with a buddy of mine cause we didn't listen to much radio but would throw it on occasionally and say "lets see what the kids are listening to"
here's a few things that I like these days
    Wolfmother ~ Victorious

    Kasabian ~ Clouds

Royal Blood ~ Figure It Out

It is not about what i like really, it's more like throw stuff in here and see if we can find something appealing ;) we're in a heck of a musical crisis, gotta do something. Let's start by searching what's out there

Enjoyed these a lot. The Kasabian reminds me of a John Carpenter soundtrack in the beginning. Love it. Some great stuff with authority. Got some new music now. Great thread

There's lots and lots. Most of it is not played on radio though. Tune in to a classic rock station and most of what was good back then also isn't played, just the mainstream hits (not saying those aren't good).

It all depends on what you like of course. But these have some great feel and substance to their music IMHO:
