I know if I had written the name Yoko Ono in the title no one would even open the thread, so I ask instead if you're open-minded. I have to this day not known much about Yoko except the obvious facts that many know of. But I was left confused when it came to her work and what she stands for, basically understanding her.

And I think many of you possibly share that feeling with me, so if you're open-minded watch this 6 min video that goes in to details as to what Yoko has done and understanding her.

I'll watch it, I promise. But I know already bits of her work that make me cringe enough about her. And I can watch David Lynch movies with great pleasure.

Her work is not my idea of music or art, but that is just my opinion.
If other people find pleasure and meaning in it that is OK with me.

I'm considered very open minded...but not that open minded. I often enjoy the backstories more than artist X's work...but in this case, nope. I'd rather eat bark.

I like to think I'm open minded, but in her case, not today.

I can't stand Yoko and I never understood her "music" or her "art." To each his own....

There's a lot of things I don't understand. I do enjoy side 2 of Plastic Ono Band/Live in Toronto. :)

To be fair, not everybody has a voice which can emulate so well nails screeching on a chalkboard.

Understanding and liking are two different things. While I've always mostly understood the intent, I can't, and probably never will, like her specific implementations of it.

Sure, but not everything is a gift just because one CAN do it..........:D

This is funny. I heard a rock radio show and the host said he had never met anyone who likes Yoko’s music. I guess we’re still waiting.

    Or
    Sixteen penny...
    Framing
    Or
    Finishing...

    But seriously
She did inherit a bit of dissing and derision for trying to hitch her off the wall aesthetic to a developed art form
    (John)/(beetles)

    But
    Art is art
    Ya like it or not
    And
Some artists fail to admit that they've never had a muse...
    And
There's a lot of art goes out with the fish bones on Wednesday morning...
    Or
    Should!

I guess her visual art is good. Her music is not for me.

Guess I'm not as open minded as I thought. I suppose somewhere, someone likes and understands her, just not me.

I watched the video. I still don't care for her work.
