My 57, sorry about the pic's
thanks man. I was very fortunate to get great deals on both of them.
My '82 '57.....
Lil dirty, worn...so is the guitar. I'm the 2nd owner and bought it on March 31st 1983. I think the guy that bought it before me didn't like it cos it was noisy and took it back to Bob Boyd's in LR Ark and that's where I fell in love with it. I kept it clean for about ten years and then kinda got lazy. I'm a little embarrassed now, but she still plays and sounds good....I don't so much tho.
Wow. I mean wow!! That's a genuine vintage Strat, by any reasonable definition.
Maybe not beautiful, but very, very cool.
Really not vintage, just had the ***** played out of it and that's why most of us buy them I would hope. If I had it to do over, I would have taken better care of it. Still would have let folks carve there names in it and as you can prolly tell I smoked/smoke too much, I would have at least tried to quit that....kinda like the red head tho! HaHa
If I could only keep one guitar it would be this one.
Mine's a 2009 '62 avri in ocean turquoise. I've had it refretted, the board flattened and added a rail pickup with a push/pull pot.
07/22 83 Lake Placid Blue. Has some mods. But I'm planning to put it vintage correct.
Kind of an old thread but i just got my 1991 '62 AVRI Stratocaster back from my tech[new bone nut and fret polish]
The strat is a little beat but imo sounds incredible....Here are some detailed pics
Can I join ? '62 AVRI from 2010.
Was there any rhyme or reason behind some of them having white pickguards with matching pickup covers and buttons vs. white pickguard with the off-white covers and buttons?
