    We got a new puppy a week ago so I haven't had too much playing time as a result. I feel like I've been working this one for weeks as I never got to focus on it for too long before a furry land-piranha starts biting my toes and I put the guitar down.

    I'm a big O'Jays fan and this one in particular has some really nice chords to go along with the great lyrics. I'll never swear that this is 100% correct and I've seen this played a few different ways but this is how I'm hearing it.

    I'm also not sure who's playing guitar here but I assume it's Norman Harris who played on all those Philadephia soul records of the 70s. I'm curious if anyone knows for sure.

    Great choice...brings back a lot of memories. After high school I took a factory job in a printing place. Guy that printed the flock stock, Bit, has a separate station over from the rest of us and his radio was on all day....lot's of O'jays....this..Me and Mrs. Jones...being radio it played their limited set list over and over to death and imprinted all of it on me. loved the soul of that era...

    I was living across the river from Detroit when this came out in 72. I used to listen to R&B radio constantly since it was on so many channels there at the time. Nice tone on this Mouse.

    Thanks B! I've always loved to listen to 70s soul and R&B but over the past few years it's been a huge part of my playing.

    Thank you Seamus.

    Thanks Nick. I tweaked a Twin amp patch with the Bass at around 4, Middle at 5 and treble at 6. I don't play Strats often (I know...what am I doing here? :D) but when I do, I can live on that neck pickup.

    Same here! Thanks Ron.

    @Mouse
    I was always intrigued by those 70’s R&B records... How Hall & Oats started as Philly song writers. The Spinners with Phillipe Wynn... the Bass on the OJays Money Money Money!!! The Chi-Lites Oh Girl.... that was good stuff back then.

    Not familiar with the song . The thread title made me think they started a beef with Earth Wind and Fire

    Thank you. I’ve always had a fairly wide listening taste. It’s the past few years I’ve widened my playing taste. There’s some tasty guitar behind many songs from my youth that I never realized was there while I was busy playing other harder edge music.

    Thank you my friend. Here’s the pup with her big sister.
