I love Little Nicky. Its definitely a hated movie too. Waynes World 2 sucked imo. The first one was alright, but I cant stand the Bohemian Rhapsody part. Some others that come to mind: The Comebacks Airheads Detroit Rock City The comebacks isnt that great, but its got some quotable stuff. Worth at least one watch
One 'bad' movie I kinda like is Millennium (1989): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium_(film) Another I somewhat like is Invaders From Mars (1986): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invaders_from_Mars_(1986_film)
I have never liked anything that Sandler has done. Hate to say it, but I never cared for John Candy or Chris Farley either. But even from the "old cast"... I've also never been a fan of Chevy Chase. He was good on SNL because he was paired up with people that he worked well with, but he takes himself too seriously and it doesn't translate to a movie where he has the starring role. Most SNL performers are good stand-up comics, but a stand up act is not the same as playing a role, much less carrying a 2 hour movie.
Little Nicky is the only Sandler flick I ever liked. I honestly couldn't stand Sandler period for a long time until I saw him on Letterman, he was funny af and then I learned to separate Sandler-the-guy from Sandler-the-cash-cow-movie-maker.
I thought Chevy Chase was pretty good in Fletch and in the National Lampoon Vacation movies. Also, about 7 years ago, I finally watched Caddyshack (I hadn't seen it before), and I remember one of Chevy Chase's lines being "Thank you so little" (rather than "thank you so much"); I probably laughed more than I should have at that.
I dont know. Bill Murray has never made me laugh. Not even as a kid. Hes never even made me crack a smile. There are some movies that he comes out in that are alright, but he just makes my eyes roll. Had to google Wes Anderson, and youre right. Ive only seen a few of his movies, but theyre right around my least favorite of all time.
Caddyshack had enough of an all-star cast to prevent any one of the actors from carrying the movie. Like Weekend Update with Jane, he was OK in that role. I feel the same way about Dangerfield. He works well in an all-star cast. By himself, he gets tiring. The first Vacation movie was good, but I didn't care for the sequels. Deal of the Century was just an all-around stinker... the best lines were from some of the minor players and extras. I run hot and cold on Bill Murray. For the most part, I've enjoyed what he's done. Loved him in Stripes and Groundhog Day, as well as Caddyshack. Personally, he comes across as a pompous a--, but I think that is shtick.
And I kept wondering why I love these terrible movies... I guess my taste wasn't misplaced after all, only my appreciation for quality.
Madonna is truly one of the worst actors that ever lived. But she was looking pretty damn awesome in this cheese bomb flick I hated this movie.
