    Hey everybody!

I have a "basic" electronics knowledge from 1st university year and I would like to make a DIY "custom" "old gilmourish" style fuzz using BC109 transistors.

I have never designed pedals, however I'm not alone in the process as I am asking help from a friend who is engineer, but has no experience with guitar instrument effects. (that's why I ask).

I would like to trust in you guys and actually ask for suggestions, schematics and tips to help get that tones. I know google is my best friend, however, I believe in the power of experience together with good research makes gold.

I don't now if I'm asking too much however we are trying to reverse engineer the logic of an old fuzz...

I would try BC108s for a start - less fuzz and more tone. I don´t like fuzz but it depends on the amp a lot. Marshalls and that kind of amps take them well. A Fender sounds horrible in my opinion.
Again, I am not a friend of fuzz effects in general but that is just me.
