How do bent saddles work regarding keeping the strings from sliding? I don't see any notches?

I'm used to the block saddles so was curious and wondering if it's a issue or non issue or a set up thing?

The strings can slide a little but string tension just pulls them back into place. The string is going to try to follow the shortest path, from the trem block through the bridge plate, over the saddle and on to the nut.

The shape of the saddle allows the strings to naturally follow the correct path.

Do the strings eventually wear a notch out of the saddle?

Is the little bit of slide annoying or more pronounced with heavier trem use?

Over time the strings will start to cut in to the saddle but we’re talking years not months.

Once under tension and tuned to pitch the strings don’t slide around when using the trem, at least not in my 30 years of experience.

If I had to have a more vintage looking saddle those Highwoods would be my choice! Not only do they have a string groove they are designed so the adjusters dont stick out! Pretty slick.
