I don't see what your - heated and rather offensive - remark is all about.
No custom colours in the 50s?
The very link you posted on Olympic White says the contrary.
What about the Mary Kaye Strat then?

That's a freaking sweet guitar! Mine seems to have a bit more of a green hue to it and it's the same under the pickguard. I'm guessing that a clear coat of nitro over the blue would yellow a bit and cause the blue to take on a greenish hue. My guitar is just a 2002 American body with a Warmoth GA/Pao Ferro neck.

It was the clear yellowing over the blue creating the green hue.

IMHO the two and later three tone sunburst define the period.

Haha sonic blue with maple is the one that’s actually eluding me. Shell pink with maple is crazy cool.

My other favorites are Aztec Gold as well and lake placid blue/Pelham blue. Shoreline Gold is really nice, but the Aztec Gold has a richness that is very attractive to me. Inca Silver looks great on a tele custom with creme binding.

One of those lovely custom colours that didn't exist (1959).

For me it's all the pastel colours. I prefer them with rosewood fingerboards, but even with maple those colours are more appealing to me than almost any other Strat of any era.

I wish it were mine! It's a pic I found online of a 57 strat IIRC. Old stock pickups I'd think

when I think 50's the only color that comes to mind is sunburst though my favorite color, not 50's, is torquise.

Although worth mentioning that fresh sonic blue itself has a tiny bit of green in it before the lacquer. And then there’s the matter of Fender clear-coating some sonic blue guitars and not others, which affects how it turns over time. Then for more fun you have the different formulations of the lacquers which also age differently. My first DIY sonic went more white than others I’ve done since.

Side note, highly recommended color for 1st time DIY nitro folks. Everybody needs at least one sonic blue Fender.

Thank you - I was very fortunate to get the twins before things went crazy with Brazilian. I try not to let hype and mojo trump common sense, but I swear there is something really special about these two. The feel, sound, and visual are over the top.

It’s a three way tie for me - fiesta red, surf green and Daphne blue, any of those would be perfect in my eyes...
