Best straps?

Thick, wide leather are the best. @Bodean makes some real pretty custom ones...

 

I appreciate the plug my friends.
A little story about a small time member who, thanks to the good people here, turned a humble hobby into making custom straps.
Now the members can thank their imagination into how they turned out.
I just put their ideas on leather.
As twisted, and challenging as some may be.

 

I like leather straps for the look and feel, but I use Planet Waves locking straps for utility, and ensuring that I won't drop the guitar. Have had the same ones for probably 15 years now.

 

Italia straps out of California make really high quality leather straps.

 

I have a leather maker working these days to produce a copy of this one:

It has been a bit tricky trying to find out how its really made, but we have come "close "enough".
I´m a bit excited to see the final result

 

Another vote for @Bodean straps. I've got 2 and haven't used another strap since.

I use Lock-it straps, and I love the feel of the cotton or especially the Bob Masse Series Lock-it brand straps. Sweetwater now carries the full line of their products.

I did use large Levy's leather straps with Schaller locks on my Les Paul's.

Why so big on locks, you might ask?

I had a SG Standard with factory vibrato go flying off the stage back in 1969, luckily no one but the SG was hurt.

 

Ditto x4 for BoStraps.

 

My two favorites are a custom strap from @Bodean and the other is a Franklin "Original Soft Strap". Both are fantastic but different. The franklin is a Double layered padded Leather strap and as said, the BoStrap is a custom strap to my specs.

 

I have around 20 guitars and each one has it's own strap. I have straps from both major as well as minor manufacturers. Many are leather but other materials are well represented. What is important to me is that I want a quality strap and one that complements the instrument. Sometimes when another guitar moves in, I may just grab a spare strap but as soon as I find the right strap for the new guitar... done.

 

My favourite straps are Well-Hung straps. I screwed up my shoulder after I went and over and in a pickup truck 12 or so years ago. And while my guitars are super light, my basses not so much. I've tried all sorts of straps and I have found these to be the most comfortable and by far the best looking I have yet to find. Especially for the price. While the ones that I have are made of different materials, He also makes leathers and does custom stuff. I've got two straps so far and I love them both. I'll definitely be getting more for my other guitars. I mean, why would you settle for a dinky little micro strap when you can have one that is well hung! My favourite is the leather strap from Ernie Ball with fur. So soft I want to take it to bed.

I still like the skinny ones with the adjustable fleece pad. I’ve got a black one and a brown one... one is Fender branded, the other is a D’something.
