Hey, I just joined the club today. ;-) I call her Molasses
I want a black beauty
Here you go; one of 40 2008 Black Strat Protoypes sent to Phil Taylor, bought off the Astoria, so one of the first ones in UK or anywhere....
I just switched mine from a Gilmour look (black on black) to a more traditional 1 ply white pickguard - still got the Echoes pickups in it though...
My Black Strat is Blue! Am Std, Gotoh tuners, Fat 50's N, CS 69 M, SSL-5 B, Callaham trem block w/short arm, secret switch of mystery.
My May '62. It's black.
2006 American Series
Just got this one yesterday!
Just received my brand new 2014 American Standard Stratocaster yesterday via UPS. It replaces my old 2008 Indonesian Squier which I will probably sell to someone who needs one. So far I love this guitar. It is so refined and comfortable to hold and play. I plan to eventually change the pick guard to black, and maybe install some noiseless pickups in the process.
I want a black strat. But all my guitars are red or orange. Not on purpose. I am looking at a traitorous black Ibanez Roadstar...I know.
Here is my latest purchase. The MIM came used with the custom pickguard and locking straps. I just add Graphtech nut and Seymour Duncan Hot Rail bridge pickup. Loving the sound.
Here's mine - 2012 American Standard. The usual pickups/toggle.
Not a new guitar, but I just yanked out one set of D.Allen pickups, and installed another set that he just sent me. Basically a hotter, overwound set of his "Flat 50's". Smokin' hot pickups!
2002 MIA Strat
my very first partscaster...
2002 Fender Japan loaded body and 2007 Vintage 60's Classic Player neck with Kluson single line tuners... very sweet sounding pickups, great neck.
... and my latest:
1990's CIJ 57 RI body with mint green pickguard, cream knobs,
switch tip and pickup covers. Fender 57/62 pickups...
1994 MIJ 57 RI lefty flame maple neck with vintage radius and frets,
and naturally aged Gotoh tuners.
Hi This is my 2002 MIM Fender Strat. I upgraded the pups to Jeff Beck Noiseless Pickups and changed the pots to 250K Fender pots. Love to play this guitar!
I am not sure if I chimed in before but as you can see in my avatar I have a tuxedo strat with a Fender body and electronics and a MightMite neck..
Originally a '10 BT Strat. Got the Fender Tortie guard on eBay loaded with alnico V's and a toneshaper ($75). Added the Duncan '59 and the Series/Parallel mini toggle (soon to be changed to a small push/push). I also added the white on black knobs for something different.
Thouight i would join this club
OK guys, so i am in the process of building a Gilmour style Black Strat.
Doner giutar 1989 Squier
Ironstone Hot Vintage Pickups
Mint Green Controls
Custom Neck Plate
Klusson Style Tuners
Wilkinson Vintage Trem with modified DG Short Trem arm
9 way switching , with two mini toggle switches
Vintage Electrics with Oaks Grigsby 5 way switch, CTS pots and 0.22uF caps
So this is where i am up to, waiting for my mint green pickup covers to arrive. Pickguard is a cheap single ply from Ebay, i have ordered some 3mm acrylic and will be attempting to make my own with a polished bevelled edge.
Plenty more pictures shown here of the process involved so far, including the relicing tools, which involved drills, hammers and a blow torch.

I'll be joining the club in a week or two once I get my strat put together. I just finished ordering the last few parts I needed for a gilmour style black strat. I'll post a pic when I get it put together.
