Just wondering what the difference is. I like block saddles as I can rest my hand on them comfortably. I’ve been curious as to why one may choose one or the other.

One is steel that is machined or cast into a block shape, the other is steel that is bent into a sort of S shape.

That's really about all there is to it.

Have both and don’t have a preference.

    There is no tonal difference.

    Bent steel is old school.

I like the block ones, for the same reason you do.

i often anchor my palm on the saddles and block saddles are way more comfy compared to bent steel.

I have both and prefer the block saddles for feel and I like their mass, but I prefer the looks of the bent steel saddles.
They both sound the same and perform the same job.

Blocks force you to stick with the predetermined string spread/spacing. Bent steel allows you to tweak the spacing fractionally suit

It depends which block saddles we're talking about. 1970s block saddles had no notch.

No much different on how it looks. Is more to what they are made of. The harder the steel, the brighter the string sounds apparently. I pay no attention to it really.

Roller saddles on my Plus's are great and I put them on all my Guitars.

Block could be more dense and therefore carrying more tones to the body but bent steel is older so it would inherently have the tonz.

I have no preference other that I like the more vintage look of bent steel.

I have both and my personal style doesn't find any difference. If you rest you hand on the bridge and the saddle screws poke your hand, maybe look into installing shorter screws.

Depends on the guitar for me. On a 2 pt trem, I like block saddles. Even better if they're aftermarket so the screws don't dig into your hand, even if the saddles as low as they can go. So obviously, I like bent steel saddles on 6 point trems.

I swapped one of my Silvertones from a import trem with the cheap block saddles over to a MIM big block trem and it really does look better than my 2nd Silvertone with the stock trem and block saddles still on it.

Any other trem besides that is fair game and can have whatever it wants. :D
