Anyone remember a book with a story (fictionalized) about Buddy Holly's Strat ending up with Jimi Hendrix and other guitar greats???? It was a cool story I read a while back but cannot remember title of book it was in.

@Paperback Rocker might know. He's written some pretty good rock and roll fiction...

I just found out from a family member that my brother (26 years older than me) was friends with Buddy Holly when my brother was a DJ in Lubbock about the time Buddy was starting out. I assume its true, but wasn't born yet and my brother died when I was three. Maybe he saw that Strat in person ....... My mind is blown.

Not quite what you're looking for, but cool nonetheless.

Just looked through 25 pages of google results for Jimi Hendrix owning Buddy Holly’s Strat and book, story and fiction and got nothing.

Maybe it was a dream you had and you need to write that story.

Well I found the story....in Deke Dickerson's book The Strat In The Attic 2 there is a story called The Magic Strat in the chapter called Ghost In The Attics: More "White Whale" Guitars....check it out....and it is fictional....really....and no urban legend either....

    A great tale of a guitar supposedly played by Buddy Holly....Dick Dale....Jimi Hendrix....Rory Gallagher....Clapton....Ritchie Blackmore....SRV....Billy Gibbons....a 1958 Fender Stratocaster....THE MAGIC STRAT....

YIKES!! I AM behind in my reading...I have the .pdf's of SITA, vols 1 & 2 on my desktop.....

Cool!....Gonna read that as soon as I finish Rolling Stones Gear by Babiuk. (j/k...I pick that up occasionally and read sequentially, but at 900+ pages it's more of a reference).

Thanks for giving me a KITA.

Maybe it's the story you need to option and write a screenplay for.... :D

Just thinking casting might be difficult but fun...it's more the guitar's story I think...be an interesting perspective.

For Rory you could definitely use John Cusack...every time I see him the resemblence strikes me....

Who would everyone else suggest for casting the players?
