My local pub opens on Monday for outside service, they have a 2 acre field out the back and have said anyone can pitch there own gazebo, should be quite sociable, camping at the pub, should save the stagger home:D

Remember going on family camping holidays to a site in Kent. Used to visit the local pub and walk (stagger) back. Never quite worked out how, even when you could barely walk, you could always find your own tent among the fifty or so pitched on a pitch black field.

This is a great idea. Someone should work out a way to network a speaker system so that different social pods can stay together and yet distant from each other, and still easily communicate with each other. With bluetooth tech this is eminently doable and could probably be done with an app on people's phones.

The same pub I mentioned above has an old boy that comes around with a trolley a bit like an ice cream vendors with bike wheels except it has a couple of 12v batteries, amp and speakers, he pushes it around town when any event is on (carnival, wheelbarrow race etc) and only plays 60s, or 70s music, mixed with beer it hits the spot:thumb:

Now that I think about it, as long as the pub has wifi, groups that want to socialize need only an iPad or their phones. Be interesting to see how that would play out....

Good luck with all that, you wouldn't get me sitting out in pub gardens in this freezing cold weather.

At Headingley yesterday, in the first cricket match of the season, Yorkshire were playing Glamorgan until snow stopped play at lunch time...
