I’ve had 6 surgeries since 2016, not including this and smashing off the end of my finger and a couple smaller things! It gets a little comical, actually. The doctors office, everyone who works there, know me super well. Kind of like Home Improvement with Tim Allen!
did the doctor have to realign your busted tailbone? Mine did. I remember sitting on a short stack of towels that my ass could hangover for quite awhile afterward during school. At hom I could lay in bed on my side. I broke my tailbone in PE in the long jump pit. Broke my left wrist jumping curbs on my bicycle. That was 1980, and my mom used to be an artist. She put a really cool painting of Yoda’s head on my cast, with the caption “Broke it, did you” underneath.
Actually don’t remember the fix for my tailbone. All I remember was sitting on that inflatable hemaroid donut. I slipped on icy steps at my grandmas house and caught my ass bone one the edge of a step. I don’t remember what messed up my wrist though. That felt really similar to this broken hand though. The current injury is really far back-the back of pinky bone shoved back and broke those little hand bones and then jumped over them to be dislocated. It looked like a big limp in the top of my hand and my knuckle was not there anymore because all that stuff was moved a half inch or so back. That was not fun getting it popped back into place.
Sorry about the break @Jason D You'll get thru it I had a minor break in my left wrist last fall. Couldn't play for a while but it comes back and pretty soon you'll forget it happened.
Sorry to hear that! I broke my fretting hand last year playing volleyball, and man was it frustrating to be stuck in a cast for so long. Mine took longer than usual to heal because I kept playing for two more hours after I broke it, and then waited several weeks to see the doctor. Hope you have a much quicker recovery!
Sorry about your injury. I had a minor fracture years ago. I was running for a bus and tripped, landing with my right hand under my chest. I was wearing heavy gloves at the time and noticed the pain, but rode the bus home, took off the glove and saw my pinky bent back in a funny way. Next day, I look up an orthopedic surgeon and go to the office. What's the first thing I have to do? - Fill out two pages of intake form in pencil and I can't write with my left hand. The doctor sets it (poorly) and splints it with a metal splint and tape. He gives me a prescription for Vicodin. I go to the drugstore and get the prescription filled and the considerate druggist gives it to me in a bottle with "childproof" cap. I got it home and discovered that I couldn't open it, fortunately my brother was there and opened it for me. I left the cap off. The finger still gives me a dull pain when cold and I can't straighten it. It's still a story about how inconsiderate medical care can be. "The pinky on your writing hand is broken - here's a pencil and two pages of form to fill out." "Oh, I see that you have a splint on your right hand - here's your pain medication with a childproof cap that you can't open by yourself."
Thanks everyone! I would go on like usual about how cool y’all are, but it’s a pain typing with one hand!
