Palace of Fine Art in San Francisco...should be fun!
I haven't seen Bruce in probably 10-15 years, but every time I have seen him in whatever context he's been great. Hell of a musician and seems like a great guy as well, although I obviously don't know him to say that - just an impression...
Amazing I've never seen him. He played here a lot before he hit it big. He's originally from Williamsburg, VA. Maybe 45 minutes from here
I saw him with the Fare Thee Well Grateful Dead show...this should be a much more intimate setting to be sure
Wow! Enjoy the great music!
Heck of a musician. I’ve always admired his work. Love that song Valley Road!
I am seeing him Sunday at Austin City limits Music Fest! I think the lineup says Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers.
Haven't seen him since the 70s, but he was a great musician with a great band, back then. He was also a badass accordion player and thanked his mom for the lessons.
The Noisemakers are his band. He IS a great guy and IS also an off-the-charts mind AND musician. You won’t hear many, if any, of his radio hits during his live set...at least not in immediately recognizable form. He’ll slide instrumental nods to a couple in to every set, but usually not more than a few seconds long clips of any one tune. He’s much more apt to cover a well known song of someone else, particularly Bob Dylan or Simon and Garfunkel, and put his spin on it. You’re in a great area where the bulk of the crowd will appreciate him and what he’s doing in the moment. In places that are less cultured and are going expecting to hear “That’s Just the Way It Is,” they’ll be sorely disappointed. And if they let him know they’re disappointed, he’ll let them know they can go buy his “Greatest Radio Hits” record. Which, also includes a couple live tunes, so listeners will be better educated on what to expect at his live show! Any clips you can find of him and Bela Fleck at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival are pure gold...seek them out and enjoy.
He and The Noisemakers were on top of their game...great freakin show!
