I second Donner guitars. I bought one (strat style) a month ago and immediately wanted another one. I ended up buying a Fender instead and upgraded the Donner (Fender Player HSS loaded pickguard, Tone Ninja locking stepped tuners, and a Wilkinson bridge/trem. Really great modding platorm. I'm seriously impressed with them.
