local guy is selling this SRV relic strat. He said it’s brand new and he thinks it’s made in Mexico. From my research most SRV strats have the SRV initials on the guard. There’s no “made in” decal or serial for me to search. Anyone know if this is genuine? Thanks so much.
I can confirm that it's 100% fake and not at all genuine, not made by Fender.....wrong tuners, wrong color hardware, wrong relic/wear, headstock logo is off, 12th fret dots are SUPER far apart meaning this guitar is made in China from the ground up and sold on asian fake ebay sites....
I'm no expert but I can see that is one of the worst relic jobs I've ever seen. Looks like somebody took their first shot at making a relic and didn't even use any kind of tutorial as a guide.
The headstock is shaped wrong, not even sure it's a maple neck. Whatever wood it is its been heavily tinted to cover the wood grain.
