Can anyone recommend a strap?

Easy... Fort Bryan straps, multitude of colors, sizes, heavy leather ends, a lot under $15.00, last a lifetime.

Why not make your own? If you don't have the skills and gear, find a friend who does.
That's how I got this strap from quilting left-overs and a couple of leather patches.

 

I have a few of those $30-40 leather straps. Perris,ect.
They're ok for short money but I don't expect them to hold out forever.
I have 1 from Bo.
Going on a few years now.
Besides having just what I wanted tooled on it it's the best strap I have.
Durable as hell and well broken in.

I love the Levy’s cotton straps, they’re all I’ve used for years. About $20, big range of adjustment and a bunch of colors. I’m actually about to order another one in the natural/cream color.

 

Every strap I've ordered came with a string to tie around the neck of an, acoustic.

I like my Perri's leather strap. It's very high quality, soft, and not very expensive. I think I paid 24.99 for a soft Italian leather strap in chestnut. Available from Amazon and their website.

They have all sorts of different types of tanned leathers. Vegetable tanned and others. As well, as different leather types; baseball leather, saddle leather, garment leather, etc...all sorts of stuff. Thats why I chose Italian leather. It's known to be soft and I didn't want a super stiff strap like what I would expect a strap made of saddle leather to be.

If you are OK with leather I recommend a padded suede strap. The suede will prevent it from slipping.

 

Bought a handful of Couch straps in last few years. Like them fine.

If you are playing standing for hours you want a wide one. I have a 3-1/2 in. leather strap that is finished on one side and rough on the other which keeps it anchored.

 

Yes it’s my dog. Local artist, I can look for her info if you want, the strap was $80. She also made a wallet with 3 of our cats on it for Ms Boubou
