Hi, new here and i've been researching about strats and this forum always comes up so i decided to join.
i just want to know if the guitar being sold to me is authentic. seller says the only thing he replaced is the tuners.

it is declared as a CIJ 2006 strat that is custom reliced joh mayer style.

any inputs would be appreciated IMG_20220525_140218.jpg IMG_20220525_140158.jpg IMG_20220525_140133.jpg IMG_20220525_140114.jpg IMG_20220525_140218.jpg IMG_20220525_140158.jpg IMG_20220525_140047.jpg IMG_20220525_140028.jpg IMG_20220525_140010.jpg

Welcome to the forum, this is 100 percent fake as hell, run away… Japanese Fenders have become more and more expensive and turned into targets for all kinds of fakes. This is a badly done model, don’t spend a single Coin on it!
What if John Mayer plays a fake Japanese Fender strat made from a Chinese Squire?

thanks for the responses! the john mayer relic was done by the seller, and he replaced the tuners, was wondering if it was a legit fender std though? but yeah, based on your replies, i might have to pass on this one.

unfortunately seller didnt send me a picture of neck heel
The only thing that looks Squire to me is the holes for the back plate and the one filled hole for the two string trees that it looks like it had at one time.
I don’t see a truss rod hole at the headstock.
That means it should be at the heel and you would think that that is something the guy would want to show.
Don’t go completely by me though, I am not very smart on Japanese Fenders.
