Local seller has it listed at $200. Curious where it’s made, and what it’s from. I’m thinking 54’ FSR MIJ. Let me know what you think. Peeling decal is strange.
That is not a Fender Japan product sticker on the heel of the neck, that looks like a Fender USA product....possibly AVRI neck...Fender Japan and Mexico put the logos UNDER the finish, if it rubs off and is OVER the finish, it's American AVRI or another series. Clapton necks also have the logo over the finish. It's a vintage accurate feature...
Crooked logo is a big red flag for me. I just went and looked at the five Fenders I have and on all of them the logo is perfectly parallel to the cut of the wood.
Crooked logos aren't so unusual with a larger sample size. It's a waterslide decal on top of the finish.
We have a winner!! The neck is a 1954 AVRI Thin Skin neck with nitro finish, USA made @Shockmaster - it's worth like 400-500 bucks if it has no issues and little or no fret wear...
Awesome! He said another guy is on the way for $125. I told him I’d give him the $200 and he said he will ask the other guy if he will pay $200 and get back to me. Hope he won’t pay it lol
Because it's a 2002 it's likely not the FSR run i posted but an AVRI 50's model neck. (same part number). Still a steal at $200
Neck looks good. Decal looks like an aftermarket waterslide to me but wouldn't put me off! Edit: if you look at the "original contour body" part the font seems off and it's maybe too big? Comparing it with my '54 reissue anniversary strat. Again, not a big deal. Get a proper waterslide and redo it perfectly and you've got a lovely neck right there.
