There are three cats in my house now. Little Bit, the resident fox hound, doesn't seem to mind...though the cats are sequestered in the lower portion of the house and Little Bit is content to remain upstairs.
They accompanied my son and daughter-in-law who returned to be nearby, as in with spouse, whilst I enter into the next phase.
One cat has six toes on her front paws. I call her Mittens... she's rather adventurous.

About 30 years ago I had a cat who's name was Max. He was a big bear of a cat. He was part Manx, part Himalayan; mahogany coloured fur, almost black. I'm sure he had a killer sense of humour.
If it was my day off and I had been out super late the night before and sleeping in, Max would jump on the dresser and just start whacking things off the dresser. If I didn't stir, he'd get on the bed and either bite me on the bridge of my nose and hold so when I opened my eyes, he would be starting into my eyes or he'd lie down beside my head and casually drop his paw on my face, dragging a single claw across my face.
