My current cat started that way - she was a rescue, not feral but also not socialized, and she was hungry and scared. As she began to trust us, she opened up more. Play really helped build trust between us.

Just be patient, she's already getting more used to you.

Oh! I should also mention that if I am standing up and playing he hops into my office chair, assumes the loaf position and gets all relaxed and serene with that cat smile.

Unfortunately not. That's gotta be a good 20 years ago now, but it was a cool incident, as long as you weren't the burglar!

Does anybody have a string licking cat? I don't know what mineral is missing from her diet, but my fat cat will lick electric guitar strings whenever she can reach them. For awhile I thought she was getting the dead string from where I'd finger picked, but even when I've used a pick exclusively on a set, she seems to find them delicious.

You know, even pre cleaning, that is one bad a$$ looking guitar. Those old DeArmonds are jewels, for the most part. Best sounding and feeling bass I ever played was a DeArmond. Cat looks like he's thinking, I really should know better, but I so want to mess around with this sparkly thing.

My wife bought me an fsr lipstick strat for Christmas. It's my first American guitar. And it's the first guitar I've owned that came with a hard case. Well I left the case laying open on the floor and my kitten peed in it! At least twice. Now it smells like cat Pee. I think I'll have to steam clean it. I love my cats but darn it !

Get the cat fixed, like NOW...trust me, if you dont it will only get worse and the cat will DESTROY your life. I'm not even joking; ESPECIALLY if it's a boy. They will spray inside of anything and everything they can get into. When you clean the case; add vinegar to the water 50/50. If that doesn't work; go to the local pet store and buy some Nature's Miracle; the stuff literally saved my 400$ winter coat.
