Cats are very strong on rituals. Even if they didn't eat their food, they still expect you to fill that bowl. They don't care, or understand that you are busy, or things have changed, it's 3:30, time to pick them up, as usual, and sit with them, for a bit.

    Stuff like that.

I love all animals. Except maybe humans.

You need these? Sorry, I'm sleeping on these cables...

Olive the Indolent has taken to yelling at me and mrs Boardblues now when she decides it's biscuit time. She used to be ok on her own, but now i've been WFH for 6 months, she decides that we are there to bring her exotic meats and crunchy delights at any time.

Cats are the biggest killers of sonbirds, and they just murder them for no reason, since they are well fed.
    Keep your cats inside

Mine used to "help" me change guitar strings, how she never put her eye out is beyond me.

My parents had a calico in Dad's last years that was certifiable crazy and a threat to just about anyone at the turn of a phrase. Good cat/bad cat, that quick...in one small, fast muscular package...claws and teeth, with terrifying sound effects. BUT, she loved Dad and as he became less and less mobile, she spent more and more time sitting/laying with him or near him...always watchful. That cat was better with him than I was and a good friend...very special.

Our cat pukes frequently and wakes us up every morning at 4:00am by climbing all over us and howling.
    So, yeah.

I'm glad for all that have them and like them. I had a couple when I was a very young man. That cured me. I agree with RL21980 - "witch companions", indeed.

Unlike dogs, cats will never show the police where your stash is. Dogs are fascists.

This big fellow is just an ambulatory Teddy Bear. There's no way to not love, let alone like, him. He will insist on it.
