I just did and I'm a little unsure as to where we're going with this. But, while I was looking around, this came up on YouTube. It's great but somewhat above my pay scale when it comes to future Challenges!

Just sharing some Howard stuff. As you know, he was my blueprint for trying to be able to play everything. Most people don't know how great he was. :D

There is a lot of his live material on YouTube for people to enjoy. I've just been listening to this. Technically, not a great recording, but the musicianship more than makes up for it. One of my favourite bass players too.

One of his students put up all that live stuff from a GIT performance. Rare to have any live stuff from him. There's the Ann-Margret demos/audition stuff from State Fair. What a gig. :D

@dogletnoir Dark and creepy but with a laid back feel and lots of tension. Well played!

@simoncroft Lovely tone, sweet note choices with a whole lot of feel throughout the entire piece. I love your nod towards a darker place around 1:08.

@knh555 A strong hint of late 60's psychedelic undergound, I really like that. There's a lovely air of gloom and dispair to it.

@alainvey As usual it sounds effortless and fluent, almost liquid. Not so much dispair as acute frustration. Very well played!

@mjark That didn't suck at all. You stayed true to the track and made it more present, and your layered playing is really cool. I was just really getting into it when it ended way too soon.

@knh555 #2 This one is just as cool but very different. There's much more metal to this one, still dramatic and full of pent up tention. Very cool!

@pauljo1963 Were right back to psychedelia. I think you're telling a story and you have a call/response thing going that's really cool. It's for some reason quite relaxing to listen to.

@tukoztukoz Wow, that's crazy energetic! I really like it, full of action and energy, I'm almost trying to catch my breath.

Train ride is coming to an end, more tonight.

And the train ride home... at least you guys make it feel shorter.

@fezz parka It certainly has an eerie feel to it. It's also really good, I don't think I've heard you play that many notes for so long before. You even kept it melodic while doing so, nicely done!

@Raimonds you took it soaring! Lovely sustained notes tied together by your fast bursts, all packed with raw emotion.

@duzie A perfect backdrop to dimly lit gothic hallways. Excelent but creepy note choices and I love your power chord sections.

Which was tough to to. Its not really a chord progression, just modulating key centers Oddball, but fun.

It was a fine choice. I remember thinking that when I showed Guthrie how it should be done last time.

    How about this one?

Is that Neil Peart on drums?

I have a slight preference for this one.

This one definitely wasn't easy and I was determined to pound that square peg into the round hole and mainly played F minor while listening for the many changes and (hopefully) adjusting accordingly. There are more than a few WTF moments but hopefully there are enough TF moments to keep it from being too painful.

Wonderfully tense with a killer tone. That walk up-slide down-walk up you did during the B section was awesome!
