I've never shipped internationally, but have a good offer on a Rosewood neck this Canadian wants to buy.

But now with Rosewood being endangered, the neck could potentially be confiscated over this CITES deal...is this true?

Has anyone had issues shipping Rosewood to Canada?

It is my understanding that the CITES regulations were revised, and musical instruments are exempt.

I'm sure you can google that.

    Thanks.

Most Rosewood has been exempted in instruments, except Brazilian Rosewood. So next question...are Plus necks made with Brazilian Rosewood? I'm off to use the Google machine, but don't wait for me if somebody has the answer!

I don't think Plus necks are Brazilian Rosewood

No, they are not. Brazilian rosewood has not been used since the 1960's except on custom guitars.

Sounds like you got your answer, but for your peace of mind I just ordered a rosewood neck from the states. It spent about 24 hours through Canadian customs and it was out the door, no problems at all.

    Thanks!

How much were duties/import taxes? Did you ship International Priority mail?

@LeftCoast No problem! And it was only a 13% tax and a $9.99 handling fee, no duty.

Edit: The seller shipped it through USPS Priority Mail Express International.

Awesome info! You just verified a couple, three hours of research.
