Clean chime and spank. 50's has it. I was slightly un-inspired by guitar recently and I realized it needed some adjustments. I tweaked the truss (to get a little fret buzz--yup, I like me some fret buzz) and moved the pickups a little closer to the strings... this helps me get amp breakup a little earlier and gives the higher notes a little more body.

I'm very, happy with the way this thing sounds now. These minor adjustments have staved off the temptation to make any mods.

Its interesting how the 50's has varying numbers...

    Dan P's =

    5.8K Neck
    5.9K Middle
    6.1K Bridge

    Twinman's =

    5.7K Neck
    6.1K Middle
    6.3K Bridge

    Mine =

    5.71K Neck
    5.94K Middle
    6.06K Bridge

But like I've said previously... it could all come down to the meter being used and how accurate the resolution is.

In regards to the CV60's Pickups thou... I will be changing strings this weekend if I have the time at which point I will remove the pickguard and see what kind of #s the pickups give me.

Is this an additional colour for 2009 or a replacement? Is it 50s, 60s or something else? Or is it a classic vibe sticker on the wrong guitar?

It's a new color for 2009, and yes it is a 50's CV Strat: Olympic White with gold anodized aluminum pickguard.

I just saw this. I hope it is an over exposed photo and that the neck isn't this white. I think the normal vintage tinted Classic Vibe neck would look drop dead gorgeous with Lake Placid Blue.

This one is by no means ugly though.

I just hope the guitars are just as good as the previous ones, with only the colours changed

My guess is that its an over exposure.
Look at the sticker on the pickguard, you can't even read it because of the brightness.

Yeah. You can't see any of the logo on the headstock so it is a big over exposure.

Here is a much better shot: 50CLVLPB.jpg
    Beautiful!

Candy Apple Red on the 60's. Not too shabby. I wish there was a black 50's though. Oh well. LP Blue is nice.

A nice black 50's with a black pick guard, now that would do me.

I just got a Classic Vibe 50's Strat today. Musicians Friend has marked them up to $349.99 but I got the last one at the store for $299. I've been thinking about getting one since December when I played one and thought that it sounded better than the American Strats I played at the store. I thought it was just me at the time so I did some research on the internet and saw that a lot of other people thought they were great. They could charge $400 for these things and people would still buy them.
