Found one for 525 $. Standard mim strats sell for about 450$ in my era. So what do you think? Is this guitar worth giving a shot? Dealer will ship it with original pickups. And the dealer says its refretted. That bridge looks wrong to my eyes.

By the way, i dont have a chance to try the axe.

Fair price for a guitar that might be golden... They're not getting any cheaper, if you like it, go for it...

The Classic Series is no longer made, it's been replaced by the Vintera with slightly different specs.
I've had 4 Strats over the years, the first being a 1983 57 Strat RI (MIA) that were supposed to be the Holy Grail. (See picture of Strat in case)
I've got a 50's and 60's Classic Series now with the 50's being the best playing/sounding Strat I've owned (even compared to the 1983 57 Strat RI).
If the original pickups are there, jump on it. And yes, the bridge looks correct.

Saddles have been changed. They should be Fender stamped saddles unless they did some without markings. Bridge pickup changed obviously.

I think they are original, the photo is just too blurred to see the markings clearly, but they do seem to be there.

Can't be sure about the saddles, but they look normal enough even if replaced.

If that's really a Classic 50s Strat, it shouldn't have the truss adjust notch... so at least that's worth asking about.

Also, the saddles lacking "FENDER" stamps makes me think maybe that's a Classic Vibe Squier body mated with a Classic Series Fender neck.

Stranger things have happened in the Fender world! :)

My classic 50's sees the most play time of any of my guitars. I love it so much that I actually considered buying another. Traded a PRS SE custom 22 for it, never batted an eye. I've owned many stratocasters through the years and this one has put all of them to shame, even the MIA 2013 sienna sunburst I had.

That truss rod notch is definitely a modification.

Easy enough to hide with a new pickguard, but I'd still try to get a price drop for that.

As for the body, it's difficult to say without taking things apart to see what's under there. The aftermarket pickup certainly proves some changes have been made, so you never can tell. I personally don't like buying anything that has been altered, since you don't know the level of experience the modder has, so I would probably pass on anything like this myself (unless you can get it for a much lower price), but that's just me...

    Good Luck!

In light of all that has been figured out about this guitar, I think I would pass, too many fishes in the sea to accept something mediocre...

That would have narrow modern 2 1/16" string spacing, plus it never came in this color. It's legit, just horribly modded.

I wouldn't even think about that guitar at that price when you can buy a new Player Series for $675 before discount.

I think Daphne Blue (at least that's what it looks like to me) was offered for a limited time... example:

But I do agree that what we're seeing is likely just the result of crappy mods!

I love my Classic Series 50’s strat, but that one looks like it’s been ridden hard and put up wet. That truss botch...errr notch is terrible. Looks pretty gooey around the knobs, etc, and with a refret already, it’s definitely seen some serious miles. You can find a better one.
