Just thought I'd share my thoughts (for anyone who is interested) on my Classic Vibe '60s Strat after having owned it for a month and a half now.

I bought the guitar brand new from Sweetwater, and recieved it on October 18th.

The guitar is good. Really good.

The only issues were that the tuning machines were sub par, but I swapped them out with some that I had lying around, and the cheap volume pot got scratchy, so I installed a Bournes 250K audio taper pot, and now there is nothing at all to complain about with this guitar.

The fit and finish are perfect, flawless, and the color is gorgeous. The pickups are, IMO, really good, and the hardware is just fine.

I love the neck, and the fretwork was great right out of the box. The only thing I will say about the frets is that I wouldn't mind if they were a bit bigger. The specs say "narrow tall frets", but they aren't very tall. They are very much in the vintage fret size neighborhood, which is not bad, just not my first choice. That being said, I have been playing this guitar a lot since I got it (almost exclusively), and I've gotten used to it, and it's not really an issue.

It's lighter weight than my other Strats (2 MIM Standards) and has a thicker, more beefy tone overall than the others. It also has plenty of sustain. No dead spots or weird resonance issues anywhere on the neck.

Anyway, IMO it's a great guitar, and definitely worth the money and then some.

Nice looking guitar. I bought one for my son for Christmas and had a question for anyone that may know. Do these have straight single coil routing under the guard, or is there routing for humbuckers in any of the positions?

Glad to hear you still enjoy it. Really great instruments, no doubt, and LPB is just a perfect Color :)

That is a great color! I also bought one used shortly after you got yours. Mine's a 50's 2009 Chinese 2TSB. I swapped the trem for a Mexican trem that I happened to have and because I like the arm screwing into the block at an angle. Like you I couldn't be more pleased with the neck and fretwork, and the overall finish quality. The prior owner had swapped in a pickguard with SD APS1's and CTS pots so no complaints there, either. I agree, just excellent guitars.

It's great to get feedback after someone has used a product for a while. Most on-line product reviews are probably posted within a couple of days, when everything seems rosy. Sometimes, it takes a while longer before you think: "Hmmn, these pots aren't very good", or whatever.

So many things are not right in the world these days, but a lack of good guitars at decent prices isn't one of them. The Clasic Vibe is just one example. Asian factories have been producing some great quality guitars and there's plenty of incredible Asian players. I think we all benefit. As Scott Baxendale said, " We're all in the same band !"
