Not super easy to tell from that photo. Are there any better ones to look at?

Monitor pix suck. Too may color variations. Look at a Surf Green then Daphne Blue Strat..............good luck with those :D

I got that info off a spec sheet- for that era. Only Blue Std. there is.

I'd say that's a good deal... defiantly worth a test drive.

You have much nicer pictures than that one polaroid shot :p

I think if it's in excellent condition then the price is fair. I would certainly want to plug it in and play it and give it a good run through first though.

I wouldn't buy it based on that photo unless you can see it, let alone play it, in person. Too much can be hidden by a lousy photo.

The better picture you posted of a blue agave looks really nice.

Ummm … to me it could even be plain old Lake Placid Blue? I’ve seen plenty of different shades of LPB, and this one could be one of them. The pic is not good, so hard to tell. Looks like a nice strat anyway!

I just checked the 1998 Fender Price list and the Standard Strat for that year is listed as (573) Midnight Blue

Regardless of the color, if it is indeed "mint" BUY IT! GC sells used Standard MIM Strats for $400 in Texas all day so they will buy them used for $300 in a case and pay cash on the spot. It is as no risk a buy as I have seen.

Before you pull the trigger, you should probably figure out why no one played the guitar in 21 years....

That color looks too primary blue to be Agave Blue, which was grayer, and it seems too light to me to be Midnight Blue, although sometimes a flash can make an otherwise dark color look more vivid. If it truly is a '98 Fender body then Midnight Blue would seem to be the only option, but it's already clear that it didn't come with that pickguard, so who knows what else may have been modded? It might be a '98 MIM neck on something else. If it IS Midnight Blue, I would expect it to look darker than that photo in regular real life lighting.

There's a electron blue as well, don't know they had that back then though.
